Wonder Movie Reflection

WALT: Write a Reflection on a movie we went to watch today at the Sylvia park hoyts which was called Wonder.

Today we went to the movies to watch Wonder,We went to watch this movie because in the past 2 terms we have been reading the novel of wonder,and today we went to see it in real life.The thing I enjoyed the most was just seeing everything my teacher said in the book come into the movie and also I liked how august tryed his best to overcome his fear of been sean differently than others in public.My favourite part of this movie was seeing how summer said that quote,if you ever had to choose between kind or being good always choose kind and that was my favourite part of this movie.What are the key messages in this movie too me I think one of the key messages was when via told august before he went off to school was if they stare at you let them stare at you because you can't blend when you were born to stand out so that was my key message from this movie.I learned something special when I was watching this movie and that is, everyone is not the same and that is ok because everyone has something unique within themselves.And this is from me if you get the chance to go to the movies and watch a movie go and watch wonder because that will really inspire you to accept people for who they,Malo and pleases leave a comment.

👑KiwiSport

Today for KiwiSport we were outside on the school grounds practicing in this sport called Run,Jump,Throw.But to begin with our lesson we played a warm up game called dodgeball,in this game we had two teams and the am of this game was to get people out from the other team by trying to throw the ball at them but not towards their head.And if you got hit from the ball you have to go and sit out of the game after 5 minutes of that we moved on to the focus sport of the day shot-put.Before we started our coach was explaining to us the rules and the safety of this sport.

After he was done talking to us we got into shot-put, first you put the shot-put under your draw-line and then you put your front arm straight pointing at where you want the shot-put to land at.After learning all of that I wanted to try it so I went for my first attempted and it was pretty good for my first throw in a long time after I went for a couple more then it was time to go back to class.My challenge today was trying to control where my shot-put was going so I need to work on that but today I think I did a great job trying my best to play a sport I don't really play.

✌️Mate Ma'a Tonga beat Kiwis in RLWC 2017💯

IALT: Write a Reflection about Tonga's historic win over the Kiwis last week on Saturday.

Mate Ma'a Tonga have beaten the Kiwis 28-22 at Waikato Stadium on Saturday night the 11th of November 2017 to become the first ever tier-two rugby league nation in history to beat a tier-one nation in rugby league test footy .This game was the game everyone was looking for,Because this was Tonga's best squad ever with the big names of the NRL playing for their parent's home land.Tonga came back from a 16-2 half time score to win their pool game in style.The Kiwis were in full control at half time but Tonga's big forward pack and their outside backs doing what there best at they dominated the second half,scoring four amazing quick tries.But the Kiwis were not done yet with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck crossing over the line to put worried faces on the Tongan crowd,Soon after David Fusitu’a sealed the win with his hat-trick try and the result at the death.The win was good because Tonga will now head off to Christchurch for their quarter-final against Lebanon,while the Kiwis will now head into the capital city  Wellington to face Fiji,And if they beat Fiji they will also likely need to topple Australia in the semi-finals.I hope you learnt a little about what's happening in the Rugby League World Cup right now,Malo and Please leave a comment Please leave a comment.

🤗Tapa Cloth design🤓

IALT: To write a reflection about what we did for our Tapa Cloth design. 

Yesterday was my first back to school in a week because I was really sick but I was really happy to be back at school because I really missed the boys.Yesterday we were working on our Tapa Cloths because we are going on Friday to this art place in pakuranga.Firstly we got a piece of paper then we had to fold it into 4 pieces and in the 4 pieces we had to draw what home looks like to you and then draw what family looks like to you after that then you had to draw what your interest looks like to you and finally draw what church looks to you.Something I found challenging was that I to find something to draw in the spaces.

👌Mate Ma'a Tonga😍

IALT : Write a reflection about Tonga's all star team for this up coming Rugby League World Cup.

Last week there was a big shocker to the rugby league world as two of the best rugby league players Jason Taumalolo and Ander Fifita turn down the Kiwis and Australia to go and play for Tonga.The pair’s move to shun New Zealand and Australia has earned mixed responses from both sides of the Tasman, as they joined the likes of New Zealanders Manu Ma’u, Sio Siua Taukeiaho and David Fusitu’a at Tonga.And also some of the players from the Kiwis and Australia called there move to Tonga disrespectful and poor but at the same time its heart warming because they wanna give back to where they come from and playing for Tonga will really mean a lot to Tonga and their families in Australia,New Zealand and also in the Kingdom of Tonga.So this week the side will be playing Toa Samoa on Saturday the 4th of November in New Zealand at Hamilton stadium .Something I felt challenging from this task is that I had to find more information about what happen so I had to do a little research,I hope you enjoyed reading and I really hope you watch the game and support our boys as they go off to battle.

IALT : Explain what I have done for my bible studies.

Hi today I started to work on my bible studies,In this bible studies class their is 7 boys init,so there is Sifa,Kiko,Gary,Matthew,Toma,George,Sene, and myself about 3 weeks ago we decided to create a bible study class because lately myself and the boys in the group were making wrong choices inside and outside of school.And I truly know that this will help us because it will remind us that every move we make and choices we make in this world our heaven father can see it and also there are consequences.So we need to make better choices,So today our Teacher told us to go and find our favorite bible verses and put on to a DLO and my favorite bible verses was from John and I also put the Tongan verses of my bible verses on it to.Tomorrow I will be working on writing why is this bible verses my favorite one and also how am I going to show it at school.Thank you and Please leave a comment,Malo.

All Blacks beat Argentina✌️

IALT : Write about how the All Blacks beat Argentina on the weekend.

On Saturday night our mighty All Blacks were taking on Argentina as the rugby championship was truly somebodys title to win.The game was taking place down at Yarrow park,New Plymouth,I was not watching the game when it was live because I was at a family meeting so I was not happy about that but when I got home I got to watch the highlights of the game.And also I just found out that the All Blacks have maintained their 100% record in their rugby championship,After Beauden Barrett was sin-binned both sides were level in the scoreboards 22-22.But the best rugby team in the world found a way to win at the end of the game 32-22 full time score,In my point of view Vaea Fifita was my player of the game because he was working hard and also he was showing the All Blacks coach that he deserves a spot in the team,and the win means the All Blacks are at the top of the rugby championship table.I really cant wait for the All Blacks next game this weekend against South Africa,Thank you and Please leave a comment.  

Technology Reflection🎓 👑

IALT: Write a reflection about what I learnt at Technology yesterday.

Yesterday morning we were back at Tamaki College for technology once again.This term for technology the group I was in was with Ms Fergusons class doing graphic designs,For graphic designs this term we were making clocks for a person that is special to you in your life.Before we even start making our clocks we had to plan who we were going to make the clock for?And what is it going to look like?First Ms Ferguson sent all of us a DLO called Design brief,in this DLO it had two key questions that we had to answer the first one was called List as many people you can think of to design the clock,So I had to name 5 people that I could design the clock for.The first person I put on the list was my Mum Vake then my Dad Tali then my little  Brother timote,Nicie Mifi Leka and finally my friend Sifa.So after that we had to write down what each person likes,My Mum likes make-up,Brother likes games,Dad likes working,Nicie likes eating food,and my friend sifa likes Tonga's patch.The next task was trying to find photos of the things the 5 people I put on my list like,at the end of the 2 tasks I did yesterday at Technology I think I did a great job finishing my work on time and also to a year 8 standard.Next week I'm not sure what we are doing but Ill let you guys know when I do my next blog about Technology.

Ancestry Poem✌️ 🤘

     IALT : Write about what I learnt while I was writing this Ancestry poem.

On Wednesday myself and my class had the opportunity during the middle block to finish off our Ancestry poems.When I first started I didn't feel like working on it but at the end of this I really enjoyed working on this poem that really matters to me,This task had challenges because it required me to think outside of the box and made think about my Ancestors back in Tonga and also got some great ideas from some other poems.I loved writing about my ancestors because I only knew a little about them and after writing this poem I think I know much more then I knew before writing this Ancestry poem.And if you guys don't know what that F.O.E means its a short name for Family over everything because to everyone family is the most important thing to them and thats why I put it on my poem.And I am a proud Tongan that is so lucky to understand the language and also I am lucky that I can talk in my language.At the end of this I feel like I learnt a lot more about my Ancestors and that I am getting more closer with them every sentence I wrote in this poem and what really matter was that I was happy working this poem.

Kiwi Can.

IALT : Write a little reflection about what we did and learned at Kiwi Can.

This week on Tuesday we were back in the school hall for Kiwi Can onces again.And our forces for Kiwi Can this week and next week was dealing with challenges,To me dealing with my challenges is standing tall when people try to put you down,Forcing on the right path for an example finishing your work on time and making sure we make positive choices.So that was our forces for this week but every one wanted to play a game,And this week the game we were playing was called Handshake in this game my buddy was Matthew to be very honest me and matthew didn't know what to do so me and Matthew just did a simple handshake.But at the end of this I think me and Matthew did a great job trying to make up a handshake,But next time I think I need to work fast and trying to finish in the amount of time that they gave us.

IALT : Write a little reflection on what we did today at KiwiSport.

Hi today in the first block of the day we were down in the hall for KiwiSport.As you know our KiwiSport for this team is Hip-Hop,If you don't know what Hip-Hop is it is a kind of dance that you do in the streets.They created this because African Americans and Latinos wanted to express themselves out to the world because people were not listening to what they wanted to say, so they decided to create Hip-Hop.Today we had to get into our groups for the dancing battles and my buddy was Ana,To me I think she's better then me at dancing I like the new dance moves she shows me and I really like that me and her are sharing ideas so we can come up with a dance.In dance we had around 5 to 6 different dance moves.Our first move was called the smurf,then the janet jackson after that we did the cut-it move plus the whip and na-na.At the end of our dance I think me and Ana did a great job with our dance but next time I think me and her need to work on making sure we know what move comes next.But from my point of view I think this was a great Hip-Hop season for this week.

My last rugby game of the season.

IALT: Write about my last  rugby game for the season of 2017.

Last week Saturday I was up and all ready to go to my last rugby game of the season.I was happy but at the same time sad because it was my last rugby game for Auckland Marist rugby club and also I won't be able to see some of the boys from the team because we were all going off to college next year.The team we were playing on that Saturday were Waitemata,Waitemata were known for having a powerful forward pack but our boys were up for the challenge.Our game kicked off at 11.30 and as you our rugby game is a two half game with 40 minutes each half,In the first half our defenses was solded but one error from our team let them throw to score the first try of the game.But that did'nt stop the boys from working hard,me and the back line were breaking holes in their Defensives line and soon after we were on the scoreboard and the game was all tied up 7 all.Then soon after that our boys were playing smart footy giving the ball to the forward pack so that they could take us up the field with their powerful legs.And then me and the back line wanted the ball because we saw a miss match with their back line because it was 5 of us and only 3 of their back line defending us,so we got the ball and gave it out to our winger so he could use his paces to score 2 two tries,After that it was half time with us up 17-7.In the seconed half it was the same story as me and my team were playing great footy as the team were breaking their D line.To me that was a great game to end off our wonderful season with a win,by the way I didn't know what the final score was.

Buddy Reading.

IALT : Write a Reflection about buddy reading today.

Today after lunch time we were back in our buddy class room 3 for reading time.Today my buddy was hena and the book we were reading was called the gingerbread man,Im sure a lot of us know this story.After reading the book to her she had to read it back to me,in my point of view I knew she could understand the story and she was a good reader.Then I had to single her book log,in the book log you have to put the date in then write the tittle of book then write your name on the side.Next time I think I need to slow down my reading so my buddy can understand what i'm saying.So that was reading buddy for today I really had fun.

Black Ferns into the world cup finals.

IALT : To write about this article I read today.

Our Black Ferns have beaten the United States of America in a 45-12 win to progress to the Women's World Cup final this Sunday.The Black Ferns were too strong and too good for most of the game and they really deserved their great victory over USA. But Coach Glenn Moore of the Black Ferns said that his team made too many errors in their own half of the field and also a lot more errors around the breakdown and gave a lot of possession to the other team in a 45-12 win.The Black Ferns winger Portia Woodman scored four great tries in the game and is now the tournament’s leading try scorer with 13 tries.Woodman said coming into the semi finals, it was going to be hard playing America because they were known to be physical.And also the wonder women Woodman will be playing in her first world cup final this Sunday morning against England,In my point of view I think the Black Ferns are making us proud and I know that they will play their hearts out in the final.

Kiwi Can Reflection.

IALT : Write a Reflection about what we learnt at Kiwi Can this week.

This week on Tuesday we were at Kiwi Can once again,This week we got to Kiwi Can I little bit late because we were to focused on our math's so we totally forgot about it.So as soon as we walk into the school hall our Kiwi Can teacher Ms Lily was waiting there for our class,So she told us that we were going to just get into a game call tag the master.To play this game we had two yellow tags on the side of our shorts and the other person had to try take it,To me it was a good game because it required us to move our bodies a lot so our blood could pump though our everywhere in our body.But the sessions main focuses was about self-control,To me self-control is just controlling your self,your feelings and your thoughts.And one thing just managing yourself positive so thats what we learnt at Kiwi Can this week.

How hobbies and Passion can become jobs.

IALT: Make a DLO related to my hobbies and passions.

This week on Wednesday myself and my class were reading the same article about hobbies,Then after reading the article we were working on this tasks called how hobbies and passions can become jobs.So this task had 3 key question related to hobbies and passions and we had to answer them,I think this task was hard at times but I slowly knew what to do.This task required me to think critically and also positive to get it done to a year 8 stranded,at the end of this I think I did a good job with this DLO but next time I think I need to work on making sure i'm focusing on my work at all times and not getting distracted by other people.And if I do that I will get my work done on time and blog a lot more.

All Blacks to good for Australia

IALT: Write a Reflection about the All Blacks rugby game on last Saturday night.

Last week on Saturday our mighty All Blacks played one of the greatest 50 minutes of footy to beat Australia in a 54-34 win, in the opening game of the 2017 Rugby Championship.The All Blacks were in beast mode in the first 40 minutes,scoring 6 outstanding team tries and after that 2 in the second half.That win means that New Zealand is going to keep the Bledisloe Cup for another year.In that awesome game records were being broken by the All Blacks,They broke the record for the highest points scored against Australia.Which the recent highest points scored against Australia was 42, a record which was set last year by the All Blacks.It was also the most tries scored against Australia in the first half of footy in history,The All Black try scorers in the first half of the game were Liam Squire, Rieko Ioane (x2), Ryan Crotty (x2),Sonny Bill-Williams.And then in the second half the All Blacks were still dangerous with Mackenzie and Ben Smith adding to the All Blacks try telly.This week I think Australia will be up for the test and that they would have learnt what the All Blacks were capable of doing,this week's game will be in New Zealand in,Dunedin.

World's Highest Paid Rugby Player

IALT : Read an article biased on the World's Highest Paid Rugby Player. 

Former All Black Tongan player Charles Piutau is now the world's highest paid rugby player.Piutau has signed a two-year deal with Bristol in England for the next two seasons 2018 and 2019. The deal itself is worth £1 million (NZ$1.78million) per year.Piutau was a standout player last season,Which he earn the player of the year's award and also he earned a spot on the Pro12's team of the season.As you know Former All Black Den Carter is currently at the French side Racing 92.With his deal expiring at the end of next year it will leave piutau at the top of the earning heap.Plus Piutau only played 16 tests for the All Blacks,I think piutau earned this because he had one of his best year's in rugby and he will not let you down if his in your team I know this because he played with my cousin George Moala in the Auckland Blues and also in the All Blacks.

TPS Rugby Team

WALT : Name Our Rugby Team For Weeks 7's Eastern Rugby Zone Comp.

This week the Year 7&8 boys were just talking about the Eastern Rugby zone that was on week 7 of this term.Our coach Kauri asked everyone what position they liked to play then he put our names next to the position,Most of the boys in the team play for Auckland Marist Rugby Club just down the road from our school.Every Tuesdays and Thursdays on Lunchtime we have training,all we did was learn our basic things like passing the ball and tackling so that was our focus for this week,To me the boys are like my brothers because when one of us brothers fall down we pick them up and tell them to keep on fighting.But there was this one problem, all the boys were trying to pick a captain for the team,But then something popped into my head that there should be no captain all the team needed was all that big boys to step up and lead the team so we all agreed to that.And lastly our team Motto was "Fight for each other" to me that was a big part of our team because at the end of the day if we win or lose we all know we fighted for each other and that we played our hearts out for one another,And that we will always be brothers even if we go our different ways when we had out to college.I can't wait for week 7 and i really know our hard work every Tuesdays and Thursdays will pay.

WALT : Create a DLO to show you guys what we wanted to become in the future.

Last week on Friday we were in Room 10 for half of the day.As we made our way into the class Ms Aireen was waiting in the font,so we all found a spot to sit down then Ms Aireen said we were going to work together on this program called Career.But first we had to find out what the meaning of career is???So do you know what Career means?At first I differnt know what it meant but after reaching it now I really know what it means,Career means having a job that can provide you with a comfortable lifestyle.After that Ms Aireen told us to make a DLO that can show what we wanted to be when we were young and also what we wanted to be now.As you go though my sides you will see what I wanted to be and why I wanted to be that.I hope you like my DLO and Please leave a comment..

Last week on Tuesday we had Cybersmart and our focus was to make a map and put photos of the sites I've been to in the last 24 hours.And if you wanted to see what you have been on the last 24 hours you can just hold ctrl-H then it will come up with your history page and will show you everything.And also I learnt something new that every where you go can stay online for the rest of your life.I hope you like my map and also its name Chocolate Island and I hope you would like to try it out in your personal time.

KiwiSport T3 W3 2017

WALT: Write a Reflection on what we learnt at Kiwi Sport today.

The next 6 weeks we will be having Hip Hop for our Kiwi Sport as many as you guys know Hip Hop is one of the most popular dances in the world right now,last week at Kiwi Sport our teacher for Hip Hop Jasmine told us something new about Hip Hop that I didn't know off and that was African Americans and Latinos where the ones who created or made Hip Hop.They made Hip Hop because people were not treating them the same way,they didn't listen to their thoughts so they created Hip Hop so they could express their feelings and thoughts through the dance.So that was something new that learnt about Hip Hop,Today at our Hip Hop class we were learning a new dance move called the Janet Jackson so this move is the same as the dab but you have to flick your risk and do the dab at the same time.To me I think I did great for beginner and also I am looking forward for the next 6 weeks.Next time I need to work on my listening skills a little bit more and also I need to work on facing the speaker when their talking,from my point of view I think you should try it out and see if you enjoying doing it.

Cook island dance.

WA: Learning a dance for cook island language week.

This week is Cook Island language week so all the Student leaders of the school had to come up with something that is related to Cook island,So we could perform today in front of the school at Assembly.So we all wanted to do a dance so we all stood up as leaders and made up a dance and the song we choose to dance to is called ''ROIMATA'' one of the most popular Cook Island songs,And if you don't know what and where is Cook island,Cook Island is part of the Pacific island family and is located in the south pacific ocean, in this dance all of the moves are related to the Cook island culture.To you all I hope you have a great weekend and Have a great time celebrating Cook Island language week.

1. It costs of $327.55 for Tom’s ski team to take part in a competition.To find out how much it costs for each of the four team members to compete Tom writes 4 x ? = 327.55

This week for maths I was working with my classmate Gary,Metui and Sifa on this task.To me it was a little bit hard so we went to Ms Komor and asked if she could take us through the problems 1 at a time,and After that we all knew what to do.So we all had to solve one problem each and if we were fast finisher we can solve 2 problems.After all of this maths I think were gone better at maths as a class.I hope you challenge yourself with some hard maths problems.

On Tuesday we had Ms Shearing come into our class for our CyberSmarts class,This week we were focused on writing down helpful advice that can really help you when you are online.To me I think it was good to know this advice because it can really help me when I'm posting things online and one advice I really liked was to always ask yourself is it going to affect others?And is it going to give me a good name online?So I really hope you use some of the advice when you're online and I hope you like it.

New Zealand win the 35th America's Cup today.

IALT: Write a Reflection on New Zealand winning the 35th America's Cup. 

Early this morning I was up and ready to watch the 9th match of the America's Cap final.Team new zealand just needed to win 1 races today to win the 35th America's Cup because the first team to reach 8 wins,wins the America's Cup.Peter Burling and team New Zealand were all ready to claim the 35th America’s Cup,But they needed to get that one win to win it all and bring it back home.Team U.S.A would keep on fighting to keep the Cup in their hands,and as you know New Zealand kept on there wonderful form as they won the first and last match of the the America's Cup, 7-1 victory over Oracle team USA.To many people New Zealand were too fast and strong for Oracle team U.S.A in the final race this morning,Beating Oracle team U.S.A by a good 27 seconds to bring home the oldest sports trophy in sports history.Team New Zealand helmsman Peter Burling was on his best form in the America's Cup final today and he was also the youngers helmsman to lead his team to the Cup this morning.To me I think they did a great job to win the Cup and I know the people around New Zealand is so proud of what they have done for sailing and also for our country.

Today was our last season of having basketball for kiwisport this year,and as you know basketball is one of the most watched sports in the world and also 2nd highest paid sport in the world.So today for kiwisport we had one of our teacher helpers take us to kiwisports out on our basketball courts,So as soon as we got down there we had to warm up because some of us were cold so we went for a run around the courts 5 times and then we were ready to play golden child,it would've been good to win that game but we lost and that's okay because we can all learn from our mistakes and that's a good thing.But then it was time to play some ball, our way of playing basketball is that we get put into 2 teams then we line up on the sideline.Then coach calls outs a number like for an example 7 so seven people have to get on the court and play for around 2 or 3 minutes so we played that game but at the same time it was challenging because the scores were really close but at the end myself and the team come out to win the game.The part that I liked the most of this lesson was working together with my team and also seeing all the smiles on everyone's faces while playing basketball and my least favorite thing about this lesson was that I didn't hear any encouraging words when our team was shooting but next time when we play any sport outside it would be great to hear more and more encouraging words,And that can really help others boost their confidence of trying out new things throughout their lives.And my challenges throughout this lesson was trying to keep the ball not getting out of control and to me that could be a very good goal for me so next time when we play basketball I know how to control the ball.And at the end of this basketball is one of most fun sports and you should try it!!!
